Keynote Address: Effects of inference training on reading comprehension – what works and why?
Bio:
Carsten Elbro is a full professor at the Department of Nordic Studies and Linguistics at University of Copenhagen (since 1997) where he is the founder and head of the Centre for Reading Research (since 1989). He has participated in and chaired several committees for the Danish Ministry of Education and the Danish Ministry of Science, Technology and Development. He is a member of the editorial boards of Annals of Dyslexia (1998-present) and Scientific Studies of Reading (2012-present). Carsten Elbro has published more than 200 papers and books mostly on reading. His main research interests in reading is precursors of reading, dyslexia, some component processes of reading comprehension, in addition to dynamic testing and other tools for the observation of reading and spelling abilities.
